Dutch Language Course Addis Abeba

Two to three times a year, depending on the number of students, a course in ‘Dutch language and culture’ is offered in The Taaltoekel.

This course takes 12 weeks overall and takes place twice a week with two hours per session. During these lessons the student will be prepared for the examination ( “the Inburgeringsexamen”).

Information about the civic integration exam is published on the website of the IND. You first need to register here before you can request an appointment to take the exam. The Netherlands Embassy in Addis Ababa facilitates the exam. The Embassy is not involved in the procedure and only provides a quiet room, a laptop with a direct connection to DUO. To register for the civic integration exam you first must complete the digital registration form.

After you registered and paid the fee, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from DUO. After that you can request an appointment to take the exam at the Netherlands Embassy via ADD-CA@minbuza.nl.

The classes are on Tuesday and Thursday, mostly from 10 to 12 in the morning. The students must be able to understand and read the English language.

The cost of the course is 500 Euro. This amount must be paid to the following Bank account, under the name of NTC de Taaltoekel, Den Haag, mentioning the name of the student.

Dutch learning books

The books for the course can be ordered from the Netherlands, via the website www.naarnederland.nl. The cost of these books are 25,- Euro each.

The examination takes place at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and is totally independent from the course in the Taaltoekel. The cost of the exam is 150,- Euro. The registration for the exam can be done via the above mentioned website.
